Have you ever felt like you needed some human contact, compassion, understanding or just someone present with your heart?
Recently, we had to rush our precious Terrier/Chihuahua, Buddy, to the Vet with either a stroke, seizure, or poison induced seizure (toads in Florida – yuck).
He’s improving a little each day for which I’m overwhelmed with gratitude!
I could write a book (if I could write a book) about what I’ve learned this weekend about Myself… AND Grace & Gratitude!
GRACE – giving myself a break when I felt overwhelmed with circumstances at that moment: – a Vet who had no clue how to care for Buddy, – sewage backing up in the tub, – Plumber dudes traipsing through the house with their disgusting shoes, — – for not having invested in Clorox company years ago, and – for not responding immediately to sweet friends who were texting their support and love.
GRATITUDE — for those sweet friends who “Stand By Me” when I’m not the best self I can be, – for Mike Bayer’s Group (from which was birthed our Celebrate Life Today group meetings). – for the new friends in that Group who were so supportive during this speed bump. – – for the old friends who responded to my panic text for prayer for Buddy…
I recognized how often I try to power through by myself, or just “Me & Jesus, Got Our Own Thing Going” mode rather than not recognizing the power in the fellowship of these new friends along with those tried-and-true sweet old friends.
We truly do need one another – do we not? Thank you God, for friends – new and old!
